Research Interests

I am a researcher and developer from Madrid, Spain. I have been involved in social movements from many years, which gave me the social perspective I find essential to supplement the logical part of our brain.

From year 2000, when I installed Debian Potato from scratch, I have been fully interested in FLOSS (Free/Libre/OpenSource) software, as you can find in the software projects section.

Ciberactivism made me be aware of some aspects in Computer Science, such as security & privacy, which allowed me to grow as a hacker and develop my technical skills.

After my graduation as Telecommunication Engineer, I become more interested in social networks. I was dazzled by scale-free networks, and started to study digital identity and distributed social software. All these ingredients where mixed in my Ph.D thesis.

In the last years, I have been devoted to Common Based Peer Production Communities, which a found a natural next step in my path.

I have always been very passionate about other things that gained my attention, like music and martial arts, which have helped me to develop an aesthetic sense that I have always found a guide of fulfillment in my projects.

Software Projects

I have been a very practical researcher with a strong focus in development.

I started making contributions in IPv6 stack of the Linux kernel.

In my next steps, I changed my interests from the network to the application level, developing my skills in web development and Sysop.

I have been quite active in the Rails community, contributing to Rails and publishing up to 27 Ruby gems.

These are some of my work projects:

These are my last personal projects I have been working on:

You can always check my github account to find my last development activity:
